Why have I been gone? Where have I been? And what am I doing?

Antichrist almighty, if that's not the question.

As I'm sure you've noticed, I put out a book and then *checks notes* dropped off the face of the earth for four months! And I bet you're wondering, what the fuck?

And hey, buddy, I am too! Where do we get pitchforks? Do we have to bring our own?

Anyway, to make a very long story somewhat shorter, Covid, Flu B, got asthma, thought I had a stroke, thought I had a heart attack, turns out I have debilitating panic attacks and treatment resistant depression 😬👍🏽 good good. Where was I? Oh, right, medication change, got sick from the medication change, disease flared like a motherfucker, had to be put on another medication, had to wear a heart monitor, had to have a brain scan, got a cold, Flu A, And now (pièce de résistance) laryngitis!

Christ I wish I was making this up.

I digress.

There is some good news among all of this, my doctor is wanting to work towards approving me for a surgery that should help my disease, is surgery good news? It is for me, at least. Also my insurance finally proved me for a treatment that my psychiatrist has been trying to get me into for months.

What does that mean? Well, for starters, this is a treatment program and I'm really trying to take it seriously and fully treat it as such, so I'd like to take a complete break, no writing, no reviewing, no promoting, no emails, no blogging, and no social media. Something I've never done in the seven years I've been a writer.

Unfortunately that also means Courtney's little Jersey friends will have to wait for their moment in the spotlight, and even more unfortunate, so will any events.

But for once in my cynical little life, I'm hopeful.

If nothing else, I can say I've tried everything.
