BORN OF CHAOS, TOLD IN INK

Growing up in a mixed-racial, queer household steeped in religious contradiction shaped me in ways I'm still unpacking. That tension, that beauty, that chaos—it all pours into my art. My debut novel, Holy Water Hurts: A Vampire’s Guide to Vampire Hunting (coming summer 2025), was written while I was still in high school. It offers a glimpse into the way my mind has always wandered ahead, tangled in shadows and questions most people are too afraid to ask.

CLASSIC GOTHIC.

I draw from gothic classics and twist them through the lens of my own experience, carving a path that's entirely mine—across pages, stages, and every space in between.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF MY CRIMES AND TALENTS

I'm Gabrýel—a 22-year-old author, artist, and musician based in Portland, Oregon. My work lives somewhere between gothic allure and post-punk energy, often shifting between darkness and defiance. I was once a high school valedictorian and poetry prodigy, racking up nearly every academic accolade I could… but what truly defines my voice is my unflinching exploration of identity and the cultural intersections I was raised within.

I’m an author, musician, artist, punk rock star, 6'7" Michelin-star-holding chef, pathological liar, actor, stay-at-home child, flashlight holder, mountain biking vampire witch from the future, possible demon, and the Catholic Church’s #1 public enemy.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy extremely normal human activities like baking, gaming, drinking an unreasonable amount of coffee, and ferally chasing down the unfortunate men who still think catcalling is a good idea.
You should probably buy my book, Holy Water Hurts: A Vampire’s Guide To Vampire Hunting, if only to avoid the same grisly fate as those insufferable men. Just saying.
